“Saya terkejut dan tawar hati dengan penahanan Anwar Ibrahim bekas Timbalan Perdana Menteri semalam.Tindakan ini muncul didorongi pertimbangan politik.Ia datang kurang dari sehari selepas Anwar Ibrahim umum untuk bertanding pilihan raya dan tiga bulan selepas parti Anwar menunjukkan parti pembangkang paling kuat dalam sejarah Malaysia.
“Caj-caj ke atas Anwar sama seperti yang dikenakan ke atas dia pada 1998: Kemudian, tuduhan – tuduhan politik dibuat ke atas Anwar disaat beliau mencabar kerusi Perdana Menteri. Dia telah habiskan 6 tahun di penjara dan kemudian mahkamah akhirnya terbalik sabitannya.
“10 tahun lepas,tanggapan dunia politik di Malaysia buruk disebabkan layanan yang diterima oleh Anwar tidak adil. Reputasi Perdana Menteri Dr. Mahathir tercemar.Saya memang berharap Perdana Menteri semasa, Abdullah Badawi, tidak mengulangi kesilapan silam. Saya menggesa beliau untuk menggugurkan serangan politik di atas hormat kepada pembangkang, dan lakukan untuk hormati kedaulatan undang-undang dan pentadbiran baik di Malaysia.”

Israelis, Palestinians, the international community must act to stop these killers now. Through every practical means, the promoters of terror must be defeated, their pipelines of financial and logistical support choked off.
We stand as one with the people of Israel and Jews the world over in mourning the victims of terrorist murder — as we have stood with Israel in other times of peril, and in times of accomplishment and hope. We stand with Israel in its age-old quest for peace and security.
This is a time of sorrow and reflection for the people of Israel, and for all who seek peace. It is a time of challenge for a country that has maintained its commitment to peace and freedom under relentless attack.
